Two Arrested in $7,300 Lower Mac Burglary

Pair also commits break-ins in Berks, Montgomery counties, police say.

If good things happen to those who wait, then perhaps the two months that followed the $7,300 burglary were at least somewhat worthwhile for a Lower Macungie Township man.

Steven Krause was the victim in early June of stolen tools from a barn at 7765 Mountain Road in the township. Two arrests were announced Aug. 10 in a news release from .

But Krause was not a lone victim. The two men also committed several residential burglaries in Montgomery and Berks counties, which eventually led to their capture, according to police.

Zachary Simon, 19, and Shawn Lee, 21, both with Gilbertsville addresses in Montgomery County, were charged with several burglaries, including the one in Lower Macungie, police said. Lee was being held in Montgomery County Prison as of Aug. 10. Simon posted bail and was awaiting his preliminary hearing.

According to police, Simon and Lee stole tools including several chainsaws from the barn between 10 p.m. June 7 and 7:10 a.m. June 8. The tools were valued at $7,331.
