Two Injured in 5-Vehicle Crash on Hamilton Blvd.

The following information was supplied by Upper Macungie Police.

Two people were injured in a five-vehicle crash Friday morning on Hamilton Boulevard in Upper Mac, police said.

Hamilton Boulvevard was closed for an extended period of time while crews cleared the roadway.

Taken to a hospital were the drivers of two of the vehicles, Alison Patchoski of Blandon and Francis Young Jr. of Mohnton, police said. Both towns are in Berks County.

The accident happened at 7:03 a.m. on Hamilton Boulevard at Newtown Road.

According to police, Charles Johnson Jr. of Quarryville was traveling on Hamilton Boulevard when his vehicle struck Patchoski's vehicle, pushing it to the side. Johnson's vehicle continued forward and struck Young's vehicle, pinning it against a vehicle driven by Rene Aponte of Newark, N.J.  The force of that crash pushed Aponte into another vehicle driven by a 17-year-old girl, police said.

The Morning Call reported that Johnson and Aponte were driving tractor trailers.
