"It's a family-oriented neighborhood," he said. "Everybody gets along."

He said it's usually quiet, except for the sounds of children playing.

Officials are expected to release a statement later today.

As of noon Monday, police remained inside the house, but left 20 minutes later. The yellow crime tape that roped off the front and sides of the home were removed.

Malcolm Lewis, 19, who lives near the home, said he heard shots fired early this morning and that police arrived within 10 minutes.

He said that the family that lives there consists of a mother and father with three grown sons, two of whom played football for Parkland High School before graduating. He said the two youngest sons attend college out of the area, but may have been home for the Easter holiday. He said the oldest son is a music promoter.
