Woman Charged with Causing $9,800 Damage at Macungie Business

Emmaus resident allegedly defaced motorcycle and two computers.

An Emmaus woman has been charged with criminal trespass and criminal mischief  for breaking into a Macungie business and causing an estimated $9,800 in damage, according to Macungie police.

Heather Belles, 40, of 640 Walnut St. was processed and arraigned before being released pending a preliminary hearing, police said.

She was charged in connection with an April 21 burglary report at Sherr & Szakonyi Painting, 141 E. Main St., Rear, police said. The business was entered by breaking a garage door window. Once inside, Belles damaged a motorcycle and two computers, police said.

Police did not say what Belles' connection was to the business or anyone who worked there.

Charged: Robert Joseph Coleman, 61, of Wescosville April 30 with criminal mischief; caused $300 in damage to the residence at 5373 Hamilton Blvd. by allowing water to run, police said; owners are Christopher Hana, 51, and Thomas Hyland, 49, both of Mertztown.

Criminal mischief: Reported May 1 by Kevin Lewis, 30; driver's side window of vehicle damaged by an unknown object in the 1500 block of Pinewind Drive, police said.

Arrested: John Wilcheck, 60, of the 1500 block of Oak Drive, Macungie; May 6 for driving under the influence at Wawa, 4900 Hamilton Blvd.; found asleep in the driver's seat with the engine running and exhibiting signs of intoxication, police said; charges pending test results.

Retail thefts: Reported at Wal-Mart, 1091 Mill Creek Road; arrest made May 4 for theft of items totaling $101, police said; second theft of items valued at nearly $20 taken May 5.
