The newly elected members of the Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners were sworn in at a special BOC meeting Monday night—newcomers Ronald Beitler and Brian Higgins, along with incumbent Ryan Conrad.

Conrad was named president of the five-member board. Higgins will be vice president

To help township residents get to (better) know their government leaders, Patch posed five "fun" questions to new commissioners along with Conrad.

Today, Brian Higgins takes our questions.

Q. What's your New Year's resolution?

A. I resolved a long time ago not to make New Years resolutions.

Q. What's one of your favorite Lower Macungie restaurants?

A. The Buckeye Tavern

Q. What's your favorite spot in the township?

A. My back yard

Q. What was the best holiday gift you received this year?

A. The best gift is watching my children's expressions as they open their gifts.  Also, my wife had my official election notice framed.  That was a great surprise.

Q. What's one thing that most people don't know about you?

A. That all through high school and college I was very active in the Drama Club, mostly musical theater.

Read what Commissioner Ron Beitler had to say in response to these questions earlier this week.

Brian, I would hope that you understand the gravitas of your office. Being a LMT Commissioner is much more than your own life, which is what your comments reflect.
