Councilman Who Peed on Neighbor's Lawn Has Resigned

Macungie Borough Council accepts the resignation of Linn Walker at Tuesday's meeting.

Macungie Borough Council, at Tuesday night’s meeting, accepted the resignation of Councilman Linn Walker, who pleaded guilty last year in connection to a charge of urinating on shrubs near his home.

Walker, 68, did not give a reason for his resignation, according to borough manager Chris Boehm, who reported the news of Walker's resignation.

Council accepted the resignation without discussion, Boehm said.

Walker was thrust into the spotlight last August -- about a year before this week's resignation -- when he was accused of urinating on shrubs near his home and subsequently arraigned on charges of lewd behavior and disorderly conduct as well as a charge of public drunkenness.

At that time, both members of the community and at least a fellow councilman called for Walker's resignation.

Online court records say Walker pleaded guilty on Oct. 29, 2012 in Lehigh County Court to a charge of disorderly conduct. Charges of lewd behavior and public drunkenness were dropped.

He was ordered to pay a $150 fine and $680.70 in court costs, the records say.
