Whoever wins the four-year seats will join a governing body that is currently embroiled in a legal battle over more than 700 acres of township farmland owned by David Jaindl.

The sitting commissioners have been accused of making deals with Jaindl and passing an ordinance behind closed doors. The plan for hundreds of homes, several warehouses and a commercial segment would be better than the quarry the developer originally wanted to put there, the commissioners have said.
