Lower Macungie Commissioners Consolidate Four Lots

PennDot will vacate one road in question.

The Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners unanimously granted approval for Robert and Jean Becker to consolidate four lots at their June 2 meeting.

The lots are located at 4555 and 4539 Hamilton Blvd. and 4576 and 4580 South Cedarbrook Road.

PennDOT intends to vacate South Cedarbrook Road, since it is no longer of use as a state road after I-78 was opened.  Therefore, the Beckers will be able to consolidate the properties, provided the lots are not developed without first having township approval.

The Lower Macungie Planning Commission also recommended several waivers be granted regarding the consolidation:

  • The Beckers do not need to show existing or recorded storm water facilities and recreation facilities within 200 feet of property boundaries
  • The Beckers need not show existing underground utility structures within 200 feet of property boundaries
  • Curb or sidewalk are not needed
  • Trees along property frontage are not needed
  • Submission of separate preliminary and final plans for review is not required
  • Proposed development need not be shown
  • The Beckers need not dedicate right-of-way along cartway, subject to condition set forth in a previous agreement

Township commissioners said everything should move along quickly, once all the paper work is in order.
