Lower Macungie Dog Park Gaining Steam
The next meeting to discuss a possible dog park in Lower Macungie is Jan. 4.
Dog lovers who want to see a park for their pets established in Lower Macungie Township can make their wishes known at a meeting at the township building at 6 p.m. Jan. 4.
Lower Macungie , who initially approached the township about creating a dog park, has garnered support on his Facebook page called Support a Dog Park in Lower Macungie Township/Macungie. About 30 people attended a meeting organized by the township parks and recreation board to gauge enthusiasm for the project.
"Any potential park would very much be contingent on a group of core supporters helping to fund raise the startup costs," Beitler said in his A typical dog park has a fenced in area of about 3/4 of an acre and is divided into large and small dog sections, he said.
