Macungie Council Agrees to Sell Two Vehicles

Each vehicle is being sold to buyers who placed bids via a timed online auction.

Macungie Borough Council approved two resolutions at Monday night's meeting authorizing the sale of two borough vehicles, according to Macungie Borough Manager Chris Boehm. Both vehicles were put up for sale via Municibid, a timed online auction.

Monday night's decision by council awarded a 1991 Ford F250 ¾ Ton Pickup Truck to Howard Stone of Bensalem for the bid amount of $1,050, Boehm says.

The bid for the sale of a 2005 Chevy Impala was awarded to Top Trucks LLC of Bethel for the bid amount of $1,850.01. The Impala was previously a borough police car.

Both sales were contingent upon full payment at the time of vehicle pickup, Boehm explains. And, pickup and payment needed to happen with 10 working days of notice of award, she adds, meaning the transaction needed to be completed by close of business Tuesday.

This is the first time that the Borough of Macungie has attempted to sell anything through Municibid.
