Macungie Council Names New Solicitor and Special Counsel

Patrick Armstrong is the borough's new lawyer, and Jeffrey Stewart was hired to complete ongoing litigation.

In a unanimous vote Monday, Macungie Council approved the hiring of Patrick Armstrong as the new solicitor for the borough.

Armstrong is a member of the Grim, Biehn and Thatcher law firm based in Perkasie.

Timothy Siegfried, who has been Macungie's solicitor for more than 20 years, was replaced for monetary reasons, said Borough Manager Chris Boehm.

Siegfried is a member of the Norris, McLaughlin and Marcus law firm that is based in Bridgewater, N.J., and has a local office in South Whitehall Township.

Armstrong charges $145 per hour and Siegfried charges $200 per hour, she said.

Also, Jeffrey Stewart, also an attorney with Norris, McLaughlin and Marcus, was hired to complete the ongoing litigation in which the borough is involved.

Stewart specializes in labor and employment law.
