Patch’s numbers -- which are unofficial until certified by Lehigh County -- are as follows:

All four will run again in the general election on Nov. 8 when there will be four seats vacant, three for four-year terms and one seat for a two-year term.

On Monday, Becker was named to fill the council seat left vacant by the recent resignation of Linden Miller.

Becker will serve until the end of 2011 in Miller's place and will also run for a permanent seat in the fall.

At a council meeting early this month, the borough released the summary of a Quality of Life survey taken last year. Though the sampling was small  -- a little over 100 people responded to the questionnaire compared to the approximately 3,000 who live in the borough -- the opinion was clear: Borough residents are not happy with the way Macungie is being run.

Though some put the blame on Mayor Rick Hoffman, others expressed no confidence in the way council is running the borough.
