The borough of Macungie has issued a Request for Qualifications in its effort to hire a new municipal engineer.
Statements of Qualifications will be accepted until 4 p.m. Feb. 27 at Macungie Borough Hall.
Requesting qualifications for professionals who serve the borough is a process council goes through every so often, says Borough Manager Chris Boehm.
"It has been a very long time since the borough advertised for Engineering RFPs. This Borough Council feels it is time they explore their options for engineering services," Boehm said
"He's been the borough engineer for a long time, more than 15 years, " And he may end up continuing in the job, she says.
"Keystone will be submitting a proposal along with the other interested firms," she said.
The borough put out an RFP for a solicitor about a year ago and ended up hiring Patrick Armstrong for the job. Macungie's previous solicitor, Timothy Sigfried, served the borough for more than 20 years.
