Vice President Spends St. Paddy’s Day in Pa.

Joe Biden is one of Pennsylvania's native sons.

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden spent Monday in Scranton.

Biden spoke at the 100th anniversary banquet Greater Pittston Area Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, where he said that Irish-Americans "are the most independent people on earth,” The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Biden, 71, is one of Pennsylvania’s native sons — he was born in Scranton and lived there until he was 10, when his family moved to Delaware.
