Wet First Day of Trout on the Little Lehigh

It was a wet first day here in the township for the regional (SEPA) opening day of Trout. Walked the river from my place down behind Daytimers to the Willows Restaurant and up to the bend on Willow. Counted about 40 fishermen/fisherwomen/fisherkids despite the cold wet weather. Couple groups had elaborate pop up tent setups.  

Saw lots of fish on stringers, 2 guys fly fishing and a few more using spinners. Mostly though it looked like the old stand-bys of powerbait, worms and corn. 

First day always reminds you the recreational treasure and valuable asset the Little Lehigh is to our township even though sometimes it seems it's treated like nothing more than a big stormwater collector by officials.
