East Penn School Board Picks New Leaders, Welcomes New Member

Alan Earnshaw becomes president of the East Penn Board of School Directors.

The East Penn School Board will start the new year with new leadership.

The board elected Alan Earnshaw as its new president at its Tuesday night reorganization meeting. 

Earnshaw, of Lower Macungie Township, has been on the board since 2001. He replaces Charles H. Ballard, who had served as president for the last two years.

The board elected Ken Bacher as its vice president. Bacher is in his first term on the board. He replaces Earnshaw in the VP role.

Meanwhile, the board welcomed one new member. Ziad Munson was all elected in November and took the oath of office along with returning members Earnshaw, Rebecca Heid and Francee E. Fuller.

The remaining members of the 2014 East Penn School Board are Ballard, Lynn Donches, Samuel Rhodes, III and Rev. Waldemar Vinovskis. Vinovskis was selected by the board last month to fill the vacant seat on the created by the resignation of Julian Stolz
