East Penn Area Students Achieve Academic Honors

Local students have been named to Deans' Lists and awarded degrees.

Several students from the East Penn area have been cited by their colleges and universities for achievement:

Jacey Rae Gombert of Macungie has been named to the president's list for the fall 2011 semester at Clemson University in Clemson, S.C.

To achieve this honor, students must earn a 4.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Alison Drake of Macungie and Lauren Gunn and Kristofer Rivers, both of Emmaus, were named to the dean's list for the fall 2011 semester at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre.

To achieve this honor, students must earn a 3.4 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Additionally, Drake earned a bachelor of business administration degree in entrepreneurship, and Lisa Schael of Macungie earned a master of science in education degree from Wilkes in December.

Zakary Andrews and John Mayersky, both of Emmaus, were named to the dean's list at Delaware Valley College in Doylestown.

Emily Rarig of Emmaus has been named to the dean's commendation list for the fall 2011 semester at Gettysburg College.

To achieve this honor, students must earn a 3.3 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Erin E. Maurer of Emmaus and Nicholas Wiener of Macungie have been named to the dean's list at the University of Vermont in Burlington.

To achieve this honor, students must earn at 3.0 grade point average or better  on a 4.0 scale and rank in the top 20 percent of their class.

Courtney Udicious of Macungie and Anthony Gulotta and Mark Lechmanik, both of Emmaus, have been named to the dean's list for the fall 2011 semester at the University of Scranton.

To achieve this honor, students must earn a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Julia Hamill and Lisa Stilo, both of Emmaus, Nicole Nabhan of Alburtis and Amy Bucha, Devon Knauss and Mary McKeegan, all of Macungie, have been named to the dean's list for the fall 2011 semester at the University of Delaware in Newark.

To achieve this honor, students must earn a 3.3 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Marc Stecker of Emmaus and Charles Studzienko of Macungie have been named to the dean's list for the fall 2011 semester at Central Penn College in Summerdale, Cumberland County.

To achieve this honor, students must earn a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Michael J. Pugliese of Macungie has been named to the dean's list with honors for the fall 2011 semester at McDaniel College in Westminster, Md.

To achieve this honor, students must earn a 3.50-3.69 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Allison Osborne of Macungie has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2011 semester at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, N.C.

George Phillips of Macungie has earned faculty honors for the fall 2011 semester at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn.

To achieve this honor, students must earn a 3.667 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Jessica Mohr of Macungie has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2011 semester at Mansfield University.

To achieve this honor, students must earn a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Tiffanie Figueroa of Macungie has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2011 semester at Mount Ida College in Newton, Mass.

To achieve this honor, students must earn a 3.33 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
