East Penn to Make Up Most Recent Snow Days in June

Back-to-back snow days this week will mean that two additonal school days will be added to the calendar in June at the end of the 2013-2014 school year.

East Penn School District was forced to cancel school on Tuesday and Wednesday due to yet another snowstorm, followed by yet another blast of frigid air.

This week's school closings will be made up by adding days to the end of the school year on June 10 and 11, according to the East Penn website. Should the district need to close school again before the end of the 2013-2014 school year, that day would be made up on June 12.

East Penn had previously announced to East Penn parents and caregivers that students will be going to school on Feb. 14 and April 17 - days that were previously days off - to make up days of school missed due to weather during the first half of the school year.

East Penn Superintendent of Schools Thomas L. Seidenberger said, at the district's Jan. 13 school board meeting that East Penn would do its best to work with those families that had already planned vacations for the February and April breaks.
