Was Graffiti 'Threat' in Emmaus High School Credible?

A graffiti threat discovered Wednesday in a boy's bathroom in Emmaus High School has not been found to be believable, according to an email sent by Principal David F. Piperato to Emmaus High parents and guardians.

Piperato describes the graffiti message, written in a bathroom near the main office, as "similar to several discovered last year and, as in those cases, was deemed not to be a credible threat." 

Emmaus High School received four bomb threats between December 2012 and March 2013. All four were found to be hoaxes and arrests were ultimately made in two of the four cases.

Police were brought in to sweep the school on more than one occasion last year and ultimately, since most of the threats were being made through bathroom graffiti, restrictions on student bathroom access were put in place in an effort to bring the situation under control. 

This most recent graffiti threat is under investigation, Piperato says in his email to parents, and that if necessary, the high school will once again institute the limited bathroom rules that were in place during the 2012-2013 school year. "At this time we are hopeful that those steps will not be necessary," he writes.  

"We are again asking our student body and parents to provide us any and all information they may have regarding this most recent incident. We are enjoying an outstanding school year, are looking forward to our homecoming events this week, and are hopeful we can put these incidents behind us," he writes.
