Obituary: Michele Honochick, Salisbury Librarian

Salisbury High School Librarian Michele Honochick died June 25.

Michele Anne Honochick, 63, of Macungie, passed away June 25 in the Hospice
Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital after suffering a stroke.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Michael and the late Rosalie A
(Chihul) Honochick. She graduated cum laude from Cedar Crest College,
earned an MS in speech pathology from West Chester University and a Masters
in Library Science from Kutztown University.

Prior to 1985, she was a speech pathologist in West Chester, PA. In 1985,
Michele was appointed speech pathologist for preschoolers at the Lehigh
Valley Easter Seal Society, Bethlehem.

She began her employment in the Allentown School District at Jefferson,
Wilson, and Raab. Since 1999, Michele has been the school librarian at
. She was the Key Club advisor, coordinator for the
Graduation Project, and a class advisor. She was also a member of the
Kiwanis of Allentown/Salisbury.

Michele was a lifelong animal lover and volunteered at the Lehigh County
Humane Society. Additionally, she spent many hours volunteering at the
Salvation Army Soup Kitchen. By her enthusiasm and deep commitment to
community service, Michele introduced many to the joy of helping others.
Michele will be fondly remembered by her colleagues, students, and extended
family.
