Students from Macungie Achieve Academic Honors

Several students from the Macungie area have been cited by their colleges and universities for academic achievement: 

• The Fall 2013 Dean's List at Hofstra University includes the following students local students: Laura Erle, a freshman majoring in Drama, from Macungie; Shannon Lilly, a junior majoring in Psychology, from Macungie; and, Gwendolyn Osterwald, a sophomore majoring in Spanish, from Allentown.
• Lauren McCandless of Macungie has been named to the Fall 2013 Dean's List at the University of New Hampshire.
• Elizabethtown College recognized students whose outstanding academic performances have earned them the recognition of being included on the fall 2013 dean's list: 
  -Christina Gilley, of Macungie, 
  -Brianna Maurer of Macungie 
• Wilkes University congratulates the following students for being named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2013 Semester. To be named to the Dean's List, students must obtain a minimum 3.4 grade point average and carry at least 12 credits.
  -Ryan Dupre of Allentown, Pa.
  -Megan Heverly of Allentown, Pa.
  -Alyson Kapun of Allentown, Pa.
  -Destani Lopez of Allentown, Pa.
  -Abby Stevens of Allentown, Pa.

• A total of 569 Mansfield University students, including David Trine of Macungie, have been named to to fall 2013 Dean's List. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must attend the university full-time and attain at least a 3.5 GPA for the semester.
• Five local students were named to University of Scranton Dean's List for fall semester. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours to make the Dean's List.
