Lower Macungie Township resident Nicholas Caldarelli was a 2002 graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School who was killed by a drunk driver.
He was in the Class of 2007 at US Merchant Marine Academy at King's Point, NY, on the Long Island Sound when he was killed by a drunk driver on his first leave home from the academy on October 11, 2003.
Every year the student council from CCHS remembers Nick by organizing this race. Its purpose is to create awareness of the seriousness and potential tragic consequences of drunk driving.
