EPSD and Lower Mac Officials Discuss Willow Lane

Lower Macungie Township Manager Bruce Fosselman met recently with East Penn School District Superintendent Thomas Seidenberger to discuss the safety of students who will be arriving at l without a bus for the first time this fall.

Fosselman told the township board of commissioners at its meeting Thursday that both he and Seidenberger realize time is of the essence when it comes to preparing the area -- particularly the intersection at Willow and Sauerkraut lanes -- so that .

Fosselman mentioned the possible use of crossing guards, but "nothing concrete,"  It was but one of a variety of elements the township and the district are considering, he said.

The two will meet again in two weeks, Fosselman said.

"We only had a limited time," he said, "but we made a lot of progress."

Lower Macungie resident Ron Beitler mentioned at the Willow and Sauerkraut intersection in a letter to the commissioners, but the concept drew mixed reactions.
