Saturday's Schedule at Das Awkscht Fescht

Two toy shows, Bingo for cash, special events with the featured car, the Crosley, and the popular fireworks are all on tap today at Das Awkscht Fescht in Macungie.

Day Two of the 49th Annual Das Awkscht Fescht in Macungie will feature an indoor and outdoor toy show, a raffle for a 1949 Crosley station wagon, bingo for cash in Macungie Memorial Park Hall and the fireworks show.

Of the 2,631 cars that are registered for Das Awkscht Fescht, 1,189 are to show up today, according to Shirley Schaffer of the Ontelaunee Region Antique Automobile Club of America. Here are some things to know about one of the premier classic and antique car shows in the country:

When: The gates open at 6 a.m. for walk-in visitors. Show cars enter the fields after 7:30 a.m. Entertainment goes until 10:30 tonight.

Where: Macungie Memorial Park, 50 N. Poplar St., Macungie. It's just off Main Street (Route 100) near Walnut Street.

How Much: $7 for adults, $2 for age 15 and under.  If you pay for one day, you can get a discounted Next Day pass at the information booth inside the park.

Special features today: There will be an indoor toy show at Eyer Middle School and an outdoor toy show at the parking lot for Shoemaker and Macungie elementary schools. Bingo for cash will run from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. in Memorial Hall at the park. It will be held in the downstairs, which is air conditioned. A crew will be timed to see how fast it can put together a quick-assemble Crosley car from parts, and a Crosley station wagon will be raffled off. Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.

2:15pm - 3:30pm.....The BC Combo 
5:30pm - 6:45pm.....Dave Goddess Band

11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. ....Clarence the Clown 

1:45-2:45 p.m. ....magician

4:45-5:45 p.m. ....storyteller  

6:45-7:45 p.m. ....magician

Running throughout the festival:

-- Hundreds of antique, classic and sports cars on display

-- Crafts, artwork and antiques vendors

-- Kids activities, such as face painting, sand art and a moon bounce

-- Flea market for antique and classic car parts

-- The park pool and playground will be open.
