Willow Walkers, Paparazzi and Flapjacks

Here's your look at the week ahead in the Macungie area.

East Penn School District is back in business Monday and is kicking things off with gusto.

The much-talked about new walkers at Willow Lane Elementary School are heading to class on foot.

Middle schoolers at Eyer Middle School will be welcomed to the 2013-2014 school year in Hollywood style. As the students enter the building on Monday, they will be greeted by movie stars, paparazzi and a red carpet.

Not only are the kids heading to class, but the East Penn Board of School Directors is meeting Monday night too.

There are a lot of housekeeping issues on the board’s agenda, including a contract with Bayada Home Health Care for in-school nursing services.

The board meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the District Administration Building.

On Tuesday there will be a Lifeline Screening - Health Screening at Lower Macungie Community Center at 8 a.m., according to the township website.

The Lower Macungie Township Library Board meets at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

The end of the week promises a short stack for a tall cause, with an Applebee's Flapjack Fundraiser Breakfast to benefit Cub Scout Pack 431 on Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Applebee's on Hamilton Boulevard.
