Explore the Grosser Side of Life

Author Sylvia Branzei will help Da Vinci Science Center visitors learn about a variety of "impolite" science topics related to the human body on Saturday and Sunday.

This weekend's live demonstrations at the Da Vinci Science Center are not for the faint of heart. Indeed, the science of snot, poop and wounds are among the topics that will be tackled on both Saturday and Sunday.

And, believe it or not, an author visit is also in the mix of activities.

Tying this all together is Sylvia Branzei, the woman who wrote GROSSOLOGY: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body, who will be on hand to lead visitors through what are being described as "a series of yuck-filled activities starting at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. on Saturday; and at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Copies of Branzei's books are available now for purchase in The Curiosity Shop, the Da Vinci Center's retail store, and the author, known as "Her Grossness," will be available to sign books after each of her demonstrations.
