Your Weekend: Lights, Art, Trains and Polar Adventures

There's fun for the family at the DaVinci Science Center, America on Wheels, Lights in the Parkway and the Allentown Art Museum.

Lights in the Parkway, a drive-through lights display through Allentown's Lehigh Parkway, re-opens Thursday, Dec. 26, and continues through Tuesday, Dec. 31.

The display, which features lighted trees, light tunnels and animated displays, is open from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

Admission:
 $10 per car, at the gate; $8 in advance. Discounted tickets are available at Wegmans, Allentown City Hall, Allentown Federal Credit Union locations. The Lights in the Parkway website has a $2 off admission coupon.

Also in the Lehigh Valley region:

  • The Allentown Art Museum's American Wildlife Art exhibit continues through Sunday. The exhibit includes "sensitive studies of individual subjects as well as dramatic scenes of life-and-death struggle played out before the backdrop of the great outdoors," according to the art museum website. The museum, at 31 N. Fifth St., Allentown, is open Wednesday–Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
  • The DaVinci Science Center hosts Polar Science Adventures. Programs over the weekend include sled dog shows, Lehigh Valley Zoo animals and Super Cool frozen yogurt demonstrations. Center hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Show times vary.
  • America On Wheels' Holiday Train Display continues through Sunday, with model trains stationed around the museum's galleries. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
