Kalmbach Memorial Park has a rich history that adds to Macungie's flavor and the residents' quality of life. Nestled in the center of the park is the estate of the late Frederick Kalmbach Sr., an early 20th century industrialist who felt very lucky to own such a beautiful property. He left it to the people of Macungie with the directive that it be developed as a "public park for the physical, cultural and educational advancement of the people of the community." Today, visitors find workshops, youth programs, walking and nature trails and nature everywhere, just as Kalmbach envisioned.
