Nestled in…More the center of the park is the estate of the late Frederick Kalmbach Sr., an early 20th century industrialist who felt very lucky to own such a beautiful property. He left it to the people of Macungie with the directive that it be developed as a "public park for the physical, cultural and educational advancement of the people of the community." Today, visitors find workshops, youth programs, walking and nature trails and nature everywhere, just as Kalmbach envisioned.

There is a place to barbacue and there are covered picnic tables. Benches are all around the park so visitors can sit back and enjoy the outdoors. However, the bandshell -- which has served the park since 1949 -- is probably the hightlight. A stone building also serves as a community center that meets recreational needs.
