The Emmaus High School Student Government Association plans running festival on May 19 to benefit victims of Boston Marathon bombing.

Special to Patch by Nina Rowan, Emmaus High School sophomore By now, most of America is all too familiar with the gritty details of the tragic Boston Marathon Bombing that occurred on April 15th of this year. Shoemaker Elementary Visited by Phantoms

Students in a fourth-grade art class at Shoemaker were asked to create 3D computer designs of the new Phantoms hockey arena. They then presented their work to representatives of the hockey who came to visit their school.

A month-long project undertaken by fourth-grade students in Mr. Shreck’s art class at Shoemaker Elementary School recently reached an exiting conclusion when representatives from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms hockey team came to Shoemaker to “grade” the students’ final presentations.  The students, working in groups of four or five, were charged with coming up with a 3D computer-generated design of the PPL Center Arena now being built in Allentown to serve as the Phantoms’ future home. Rob Avitabile, the lead designer/contractor of the arena, along with Erik Hansen, head of ticket sales for the Phantoms, visited Shoemaker to see the student designs and to talk about what design elements have gone into the arena construction project and what …
