Cyclist Hit By Car in Lower Macungie
No charges are filed, but bicyclist was driving on dark highway near Alburtis without reflectors, police say.
An Alburtis-area man riding a bicycle on a dark roadway after dark recently was hurt when he was struck by a car in Lower Macungie Township, according to police. Jonathan R. Kressley, 29, was riding the bicycle -- which had no rear reflectors -- on a dark Spring Creek Road near N. Main Street at 9:45 p.m. Sept. 5, according to state police at Fogelsville. He was struck by a car driven by Harold L. Heffner, 74, of Mertztown, Berks County. Kressley was transported by Cetronia Ambulance to an area hospital, police said. Police did not know the severity of his injuries. Neither driver was charged.

I wish Jonathan a speedy recovery and hope he will add lights to his bike when he returns to the road.   more ›
