His texts and phone calls to Lower Macungie mom threatened to destroy her home if she did not return to the residence with the child, troopers report.
A man threatened to slash the throats of a Lower Macungie Township woman and her child recently, then threatened to destroy her house if she didn't return to the residence with that child, according to court documents. Matthew Christopher Hoffman, 21, whose address police did not know but was shown as Alburtis in court documents, was being held in Lehigh County Prison under $200,000 bail, according to court records. He was charged with making terroristic threats, criminal trespass, harassment and criminal mischief. Lower Macungie woman at home likely scared away a burglar who entered through an unlocked door, troopers report.
With all of the attention paid to vehicle break-ins lately in Lower Macungie Township, a reported home burglary reminds us there are other threats out there. According to state police at Fogelsville, someone entered the home of Robin and Robert Paradise at 4910 Briarwood Drive about 8:45 a.m. Jan. 23. Robin Paradise told police that she heard the unlocked back door open and close; however, she did not see anyone. It was unknown whether someone entered the home or just opened the door to see if anyone was at home. Police said that nothing was taken. The incident is being investigated as an incident of criminal trespass, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-395-1438.

Macungie Police on Friday charged Blake Ryan Bills with burglary, criminal trespass, receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking or disposition in conjunction with one of two recent neighborhood incidents.
Macungie Police arrested on Friday arrested a Macungie man after he admitted taking jewelry and a computer from his next door neighbor's house. Blake Ryan Bills, 23, of 326 Oxford Place admitted to entering the home of his next door neighbor through an unlocked back door. He is charged with burglary, criminal trespass, receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking or disposition, police said. According to court records, Bills entered the home between 2 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. some days before his arrest, but he couldn't remember exactly which day. The burglary was reported on Aug. 14. Electronics devices are reported stolen from delivery truck at Lower Macungie store, police say.
The iPod Touch was so popular that it recently was grabbed -- five of them in fact. Five iPod Touches were stolen out of a truck trailer in the Wal-Mart receiving area outside the 1091 Mill Creek Road store in Lower Macungie Township, according to state police at Fogelsville. The five were valued at $975. The theft occured between Feb. 9 and 11, police said. Officials from the same store reported that 30 to 40 car batteries were missing Dec. 20 from an enclosed area to the rear of the store.

Wow he sounds very dangerous. $200,000 bail is too low for this kind of behavior. He obviously needs some mental help. Nothing justifies acting like that and threatening her and her child. If the child is his I hope they take away all rights because he obviously isn't fit to care for a child.   more ›
