3 Teens Charged with Tossing Apples from Car

Juveniles will face disorderly conduct charges for apparent joyride in Lower Macungie Township, police say.

Three Macungie-area teens recently were charged by police for making applesauce. Of course, there is no such criminal charge, but that was the essence of their actions Nov. 9 as they tossed apples at objects from a moving motor vehicle in Lower Macungie Township, according to state police at Fogelsville. Officially, the charge was disorderly conduct, according to the report.  The three juveniles, ages 15-17, drove through the area of Tuscany Drive about 8 p.m., police said. They threw apples from the windows of the vehicle at unspecified objects. Police did not say whether anything was struck or how much damage was done. Charges are pending in district court before Magisterial District Judge Michael Faulkner of Upper Macungie Township.

Police: Vehicle Damages Lawn at U. Milford Church Camp

Driver 'turfs' grass at Victory Valley Camp in criminal mischief act, troopers report.

It's unknown what purpose a driver had in mind recently when entering the grounds of an Upper Milford Township church camp, but he left having committed an ungodly act. According to state police at Fogelsville, a vehicle damaged the grounds at Salem Bible Church's Victory Valley Camp between 6 and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 30. A vehicle entered the camp at 7472 Sigmund Road and drove in circles, ripping up the grass, police said. The lawn would have been especially soft because of rain from Hurricane Sandy. Police noted a delay in the caretaker noticing and reporting the incident because of the bad weather conditions. No damage estimate was provided. Anyone with information about the criminal mischief activity is asked to call police at 610-395-1438.

OMG PD: Vandal Smears Feces Inside Porta Potty, Police Say

Criminal mischief at PennDOT yard in Upper Milford also includes a broken latch on a locked shed, troopers say.

An act of criminal mischief, by its very nature, causes an unnecessary mess. However, there seem to be different levels of senselessness and required cleanup. Between Oct. 12 and 19, someone entered the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation storage property at 5255 Church View Road in Upper Milford Township and helped themselves to use of a portable toilet, according to state police at Fogelsville. The person for some reason proceeded to smear feces inside the portable toilet, police said. For good measure, the person also broke a latch on a nearby locked shed, although police did not report anything missing. Anyone who might have seen suspicious activity on the PennDOT property is asked to call police at 610-395-1438.

Apparently, marking territory is the new thing. I have spoken with part-time employees of Ross in LV Mall, who told me this is "normal." And they also described painting on the bathroom walls with used tampons. Let's see who thinks this is a form of artwork for community benefit.   more ›

Slingshot Catapults MarblesThrough Windows, Police Say

Marbles catapulted by slingshot shatter window on vehicle and home in Lower Macungie, troopers say.

When was the last time you saw a kid with a slingshot? While your answer may be, "Not in years," if you saw anyone with a slingshot in the overnight hours of Oct. 20 along Lower Macungie Road in Lower Macungie Township, state police would like to know. Seems the outdated weapon of choice of mischievous juveniles such as Dennis the Menace is out of style, but someone pulled one of these little trouble-makers from the back of a closet and shot some marbles with it, according to state police at Fogelsville. It isn't known how many marbles were fired, but two found windows in the 4900 block of Lower Macungie Road. Police said that one shattered the window of a residence, and another took out a car window at the same address. The criminal …

There will always be bullies I am sad to say. Just assess some of the commentary left by theoretical adults on the range of topics here on the "Patch". Belittling each other, foul language, rudeness, nastiness and blatant disrespect is evident. When there is a disagreement, the insults come fast & furious. Many of them hurtful. Any wonder that kids will be bullies? I don’t wonder at all. Peace.   more ›

Feces Delivered in Lower Macungie Mailbox, Police Say

Whether a Halloween prank, revenge or random criminal mischief, the act has an air of annoyance.

There was a trick but no treat to what might be presumed to a pre-Halloween prank played recently at a home in Lower Macungie Township. Either that . . . or the resident really annoyed somebody. According to state police at Fogelsville, a 36-year-old resident of Chablis Drive reported that he arrived home to find feces inside his mailbox. No word on whether it was sent special delivery or Parcel Post. The homeowner estimated the incident occurred between 9 p.m. Oct. 5 and noon on Oct. 6, police said. The incident was classified as criminal mischief. Police ask that anyone with information call them at 610-395-1438.

Lower Mac Vandalism Locks People Out of Their Homes

Police say report of substance poured in door lock is fourth such criminal mischief report in two months in Lower Macungie.

Seems there's a new trend going around Lower Macungie Township these days. It isn't some new party game, clothing fad or the next gotta-have electronics device. Police said this is the fourth such incident reported within the past two months. Another of the recent incidents occurred Sept. 15, also at Valley Ridge Apartments, 6714 Lower Macungie Road, Apt. D7, police said. Call it a prank or call it revenge, but …
