Five Family Events for the Weekend

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

1. Dye-no-mite! Where/When: Macungie Memorial Park, Saturday, April 23, 9 a.m. Why Go: Bring the kiddos and let them dye some Easter (more?) eggs. It’ll be someone else’s mess to worry about as long as you don’t dress ‘em in their Sunday best. Pricing: FREE  2. Say carrots. Where/When: Macungie Flower Park, Saturday, April 23, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Why Go: Bring your camera and snap til your heart’s content. In the event of rain, head to the upper level of the Macungie Memorial Park Building. Pricing: Sponsored by the Macungie Town Beautification Committee.  Donations accepted.  3. How Egg-citing! We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Here are an Earth Day-themed scavenger hunt, library time with pops, eggs and more at the zoo, Earth Day at the mall and a disco birthday bash:  1. Help save the planet and have some fun.  Where/When: Start at the Emmaus Jewel Shop, 338 Main St., and then embark on an Eco Scavenger Hunt that will take you to participating businesses within a two-block radius of the Triangle. Rules, guidelines and entry forms are available at the Emmaus Jewel Shop.  Hunt runs from Thursday, April 14 through Saturday, April 16. Why Go: The scavenger hunt is part of a full schedule of Earth Day activities sponsored by the Emmaus Main Street Partners and the Emmaus and Upper Milford Joint Environmental Advisory Council.
