5-Year-Old Boy's Death Under Investigation

Police are investigating the "suspicious' death of a 5-year-old Allentown boy who died Friday

Police are investigating the death of an Allentown child found unresponsive in his home Thursday night. Cashmiere Hill, 5, of 107 N. 12th St., was not breathing so his mother called 911 about 9 p.m. Thursday. He was pronounced dead at 2:31 a.m. Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital. An autopsy was performed Friday morning but the Lehigh County coroner's office issued a statement saying the boy's cause and manner of death are pending further investigation. The death is being termed "suspicious." The coroner's office and Allentown police are investigating, with assistance from the Lehigh County district attorney.

Buckeye Road Crash Victim Died of Blunt Force Injuries, Autopsy Finds

James F. Heller of Macungie was killed by injuries sustained in a crash with a tanker truck by Tank Farm Road in Upper Milford, according to the autopsy.

The Macungie man whose car collided with a tank truck on Buckeye Road in Upper Milford Sunday night died of multiple blunt force injuries, according to an autopsy performed by the Lehigh County coroner's office. The coroner's office ruled the death of James F. Heller, 61, of 101 S. Main St., an accident.  Heller was driving a Chevrolet Cavalier west on Buckeye Road and a tractor trailer driven by Matthew Phillip Wise, 26, of Fort Bragg, N.C., was attempting to turn east on Buckeye Road from Tank Farm Road, state police at Fogelsville said. Update: Mom Charged with Killing Toddler Son

Holly Pallone, 26, of Slatington is charged with the shooting death of her 19-month-old son while he was in his crib. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

  A 26-year-old Slatington mother is charged with shooting to death her 19-month-old son while he was in his crib. Holly Pallone, of 214 N. Walnut St., is charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment. Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim said the toddler, Anthony F. Pallone, was pronounced dead at the residence at 214 N. Walnut St. at 12:47 a.m. Sunday. The coroner ruled the death a homicide and attributed his death to a gunshot wound. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday. This is a sad story, but I wish there were more details. Mom was selling somone elses gun to her old drug dealer and it accidently went off, shooting that helpless baby! Was she selling it for cash or drugs?   more ›

Coroner Searching for Kin of 83-Year-Old

The Lehigh County coroner's office is searching for next of kin of 83-year-old man who died at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

  The Lehigh County coroner's office is searching for the next of kin of an 83-year-old man who died of natural causes. Robert Downing, 83, of Lenhartsville, died at 1:04 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, the coroner's office said in a release. Anyone with information on Downing's family is asked to contact the Lehigh County Coroner's Office at 610-782-3426.

Autopsy Set for 31-Year-Old Man Found Dead in Lower Macungie

The cause and manner of Daniel Dulin's death is yet to be determined.

A 31-year-old Salisbury Township man was pronounced dead Wednesday in an unspecified home in Lower Macungie Township according to information from the Lehigh County coroner's office. Daniel Dulin of 727 Yorkshire Road in Salisbury Township was pronounced dead at 4:55 p.m. Sept. 19 by Lehigh County Deputy Coroner Raymond Anthony, "at a residence in Lower Macungie Township," the release said. It is unknown whether the circumstances are suspicious. The cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy scheduled for Sept. 21, according to the release.

Woman Struck and Killed at I-78 Interchange Identified by Coroner

The 22-year-old woman was struck at about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The 22-year-old woman who was struck and killed Tuesday at the I-78 Interchange and Hamilton Boulevard in Lower Macungie Township has been identified by the Lehigh County Coroner, according to a report in the Morning Call. Zhen Li of Tianjn, China was a summer employee of Dorney Park, in the U.S. on a work visa, the story said.  The woman, who was struck at 5:36 a.m. by a Jeep Cherokee driven by Zachary James Edwards, 19, of Allentown, was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital -- Cedar Crest and pronounced dead after 9 a.m., it said. The cause of death is attributed to multiple traumatic injuries. The coroner ruled the manner of death an accident. Next of Kin Sought for Allentown Man

The Lehigh County coroner is trying to find the next of kin for an Allentown man who died Sunday.

  The Lehigh County Coroner is seeking next of kin of John M. Dyas, 64, who was found dead Sunday in his home in the 1700 block of Hall Street. Dyas died of natural causes. Anyone with information is asked to call 610-782-3426.

Allentown man dead of natural causes left no known kin

The Lehigh County coroner is seeking help to find the next of a kin of an Allentown man who died Saturday. Donald N. Frack, 61, of Ethel Street, died of natural causes, the coroner's office said. Anyone with information about Mr. Frack's family is asked to contact the coroner's office at 610-782-3426.

Couple Killed by Heat Not Neglected, Son Says

A Lehigh County husband and wife who died of hyperthermia were visited by family and caregivers

A local couple who died after the temperature in their home hit 100 degrees did have family and caregivers looking after them, according to a Morning Call report. Lillian Kuzmak, 91, was found dead in her home on Apple Road in Weisenberg Township near Fogelsville on July 9 by a home health care worker. Kuzmak's husband, Joseph, 90, died later at Lehigh Valley Hospital. The Kuzmak's Lehigh County home has air conditioning but it was not turned on. The couple's son says his parents were not obsessive about saving energy and that someone visited their home every day except Sunday, which is apparently when the heat wave took its toll.
