Macungie's 'Bonnie & Clyde' Will Go to Trial

Blake Bills and Shayna Sykes face many charges in Philadelphia as well as Camden.

The Macungie couple that allegedly stole two police cars in a March 5 chase through Camden and Philadelphia will face trial for their actions. The two attended a preliminary hearing in Philadelphia on Monday, a Morning Call story said.  In Philadelphia, Bills is charged with theft, receiving stolen property, conspiracy, theft from a motor vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. And Sykes is charged with aggravated assault, criminal mischief, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault and reckless endangerment in Philadelphia , the story said. The Macungie couple accused of stealing two police cars and leading a wild chase through Camden and Philadelphia are heroin users, according to police.

The Macungie couple accused of stealing two patrol cars and causing mayhem in Camden and Philadelphia last week are heroin users, according to police in a Philly.com report. A police chief called them a "junkie" version of Bonnie and Clyde. Shayna Sykes and Blake Bills—who have a seven-month-old child—are jailed on a slew of charges following their alleged brazen escapades. The two have a history of heroin use and were seen trying to buy heroin in Camden two days before they allegedly instigated a wild police chase from New Jersey across the Ben Franklin Bridge and through the streets of Philadelphia, according to authorities. A Macungie couple dubbed the "junkie" version of Bonnie and Clyde by a police chief continues to make headlines as details of their recent alleged exploits in Philadelphia and Camden emerge. A 7:48-minute YouTube shows what police say is Sykes behind the wheel of a stolen Philly cop car in a chase through city streets. The video shows the patrol car swerving to avoid near misses with other vehicles, slamming into parked cars and driving on sidewalks as police follow. At the end of the video, you can see a woman fleeing from the car as police officers swarm in and grab her. Sykes and her boyfriend, Blake Bills, are jailed on a heap of charges stemming from last Tuesday's mayhem.

Macungie 'Bonnie & Clyde' Jailed After Carjackings, 100-mph Chase, Police Say

Shayna Sykes and Blake Bills called 'bold, reckless and absolutely brazen' after stealing two police cars and instigating a wild chase through Camden and Philadelphia that left a cop with a broken leg, authorities say.

LOWER MACUNGIE, PA -- A local couple called a 'junkie' version of Bonnie and Clyde by police has been jailed, slapped with a slew of charges from two car-jackings and 100-mph police chase through Camden and Philadelphia that left a cop with a broken leg, authorities say. Shayna Sykes, 24, and Blake Bills, 23, allegedly committed the "ultimate botched drug run," according to Philly.com, which reports Sykes knows the Philadelphia area from working one summer at a popular bar in the Northern Liberties section. Shayna Sykes and Blake Bills of Macungie are being held in Pennsylvania after allegedly taking police cars on high-speed chases Tuesday through Camden and Philadelphia.

Two stolen police cars plus two high-speed chases in two cities in two states add up to a mountain of charges filed against Shayna Sykes and Blake Bills, the Macungie couple who allegedly went on a drug-fueled joy ride through Camden and Philadelphia on Tuesday. Camden Police Chief Scott Thomson called Sykes and Bills the “Junkie version of Bonnie and Clyde,” in a WPVI-TV Channel 6 interview. According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s office, Bills, 24, was charged with “Attempted Murder, Carjacking, Eluding and 2nd degree Aggravated Assault and fourth degree Assault by Auto. Macungie Woman Stole Cop Cars, Led Authorities on Chase Through Philly, Police Say

Local charges are still unclear, police say, in the case of a woman who allegedly stole police cars and led officers on a chase through Camden and Philadelphia on Tuesday.

A Macungie woman stole Camden and Philadelphia police cars then led officers on chases through both cities Tuesday morning, police say. Shayna Sykes, 23, of 326 Oxford Place, was identified after the mother of Shayna's boyfriend, Blake Ryan Bills, 23, also of the Oxford Place address, watched the chase on television and recognized her. Bills's mother then contacted Sykes' grandmother, Sharon Sykes, who shares her Macungie home with Shayna and Bills, police say. Sharon Sykes, in turn, contacted Macungie Police Chief Edward Harry Jr., with whom she had filed a missing persons and stolen vehicle report on Monday. Sharon Sykes had reported that Shayna and Bills had "borrowed her car Friday and she hadn't seen them since," Harry said.
