Two are charged in the theft, troopers report, but two others on the same day stole and filled Walmart re-usable bags and walked away without paying.
The Walmart in Lower Macungie Township had a tough stretch in April and in March, according to police reports. As reported most recently, two people succeeded April 10 in helping themselves to re-usable Walmart bags for sale on store shelves, filled them and walked out of the store without paying, according to state police at Fogelsville. The pair had not been caught as of April 25. That same day, two people allegedly used a black trash can to conceal merchandise. The pair placed several items in the trash can and walked out of the store at 1091 Mill Creek Road without paying for the goods, police said. Thief jacked up vehicle overnight and took all four rims valued at $1,600, troopers report.
If the person or persons who recently stole the rims and tires from a car in Lower Macungie Township haven't yet felt remorse, perhaps they will when they read details from the police report. For starters, the victim was an 85-year-old man who lives at 4533 N. Hedgerow Drive, according to state police at Fogelsville. A jack was used to raise the car. All four rims and tires were removed, and the vehicle was left raised and setting on milk crates. Next, one look at the man's license plate should have told any thief that the victim was a World War II veteran, the report duly notes. Items were removed from unlocked trailer parked at lawn business over the weekend, troopers report.
State police trying to solve a recent theft might start by looking to anyone locally trying to start a new landscaping service or suddenly sporting a well-manicured lawn of their own. Any sudden expertise in lawn care might come at the expense of a Lower Macungie Township landscaping business, which had equipment and tools recently stolen, according to state police at Fogelsville. Saylor's Landscaping, of the 8200 block of Spring Creek Road, reported the unspecified items stolen over the weekend. The items were taken between 6 p.m. April 5 and 8 a.m. April 8 from an unlocked box truck parked on the property, police said. The stolen items were valued at $2,650, police said. 80-year-old says someone made fraudulent purchases with her credit card and took 26 jewelry items worth thousands, troopers report.
State police at Fogelsville are reporting what appears to be the second recent theft involving jewelry on Four Seasons Boulevard in Lower Macungie Township—this one to the tune of more than $15,000. In the most recent report, an 80-year-old woman at 2114 Four Seasons Blvd. reported that a 22-year-old female suspect made an unstated amount of fraudulent purchasers with her credit card, police said. Further, the victim said 26 pieces of jewelry—valued at $15,000—are missing from her home. The acts occurred between Nov. 1, 2012 and March 11, police said. Two unidentified men walk out of Lower Macungie store with 18 iPhones in their cart, troopers report.
Two men literally carted away 18 iPhones worth $10,000 recently for free -- at least for now -- from a Lower Macungie Township department store, according to police. The unidentified men walked into Walmart at 3 p.m. March 30 and loaded 18 of the phones into their cart, according to state police at Fogelsville. The problem was they pushed the cart out of the store at 1091 Mill Creek Road without paying for the estimated $10,000 in merchandise. Someone enters open garage in Lower Macungie and steals two cases of beer from refrigerator, troopers report.
Apparently, someone thought that an open garage door at a Lower Macungie Township home meant an open invitation to drink the cold beer inside. Gregory Vincent Brown of the 1700 block of Farmstead Lane reported that he left his garage door open, according to state police at Fogelsville. He found that two cases of beer were missing from the refrigerator inside the garage between 8 and 10:30 p.m. March 22. Perhaps thinking it impolite to drink and run, the thief simply took the beer to go. No value was given for the loss. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-395-1438.

With business operations winding down at the Day-Timer plant in East Texas in recent months there were lots of comings and goings of workers, inventory and equipment. That apparently included two computers that couldn't be accounted for recently and are now believed to be stolen, according to state police at Fogeslville. Two Dell OptiPlex 390 computers were taken from the second floor of the building at 5700 Lower Macungie Road between Feb. 24 and March 14, police said. No age or value was given. Ring is reported missing by Lower Macungie woman, troopers report.
An Lower Macungie Township woman recently reported a valuable diamond ring stolen from her home, police said. The unidentified 80-year-old woman lives at 2189 Four Seasons Blvd. and recently noticed the ring was missing, according to state police at Fogelsville. She believes the ring was taken between March 1 and 11. An unnamed 22-year-old woman is a suspect in the theft, police said. However, they did not say that she was charged in the theft or what her association is to the victim. The ring is describe as 14-karat yellow gold. If you took a red and black wheelchair and two oxygen tanks setting in the front yard of a Lower Macungie Township residence recently because you thought they were discarded trash, you were mistaken. If you took the same red and black wheelchair and two oxygen tanks in the same front yard that evening to simply to steal them, good luck looking yourself in the mirror tomorrow to shave.
