It may seem hard to believe that the call of nature could go so wrong. But, for two teens in Macungie recently, it did. Macungie police were called to the Turkey Hill at 141 W. Main St. at 7:40 p.m. Jan. 29 for a report of a suspicious vehicle behind the store. Turns out there was nothing suspicious about the vehicle, but the unnamed male occupant from Macungie was seen urinating nearby, police said. He was charged with disorderly conduct. While there, police said they found another occupant, a 17-year-old Zionsville girl, had marijuana. She was charged with possession of the illegal drug. In other recent Macungie police incidents: Criminal mischief: Reported Feb. 10 by workers of Lehigh Cultured Marble, 111 Lehigh St.; eggs thrown and …

Instead, police said, it was a drug deal gone bad.
The report of a strong-arm robbery that took place late Oct. 26 in the parking lot of the Turkey Hill Minit Market in Macungie was instead an act of revenge, police said. Just after 11 p.m., Corey Cummings, 29, of Oley, arranged to meet John Leonti Jr., 46, of Reading, to buy drugs from him. When Leonti didn't have any drugs for Cummings, Cummings became angry and fabricated the story that Leonti, a supposed stranger, grabbed $80 from Cummings and drove from the lot. Leonti was stopped a short time later by the Berks-Lehigh Regional Police Department. Cummings was charged with two counts of making false reports to law enforcement authorities, and was taken to Lehigh County Prison to be arraigned. Leonti will be charged with possession of …

Did you buy a lottery ticket at Turkey Hill in Macungie on the night of Oct. 18? If so, you may be the winner of $250,000, said a representative of the store. "The Pennsylvania Lottery Board called us this morning to tell us that a winning 'Mega Millions' ticket was sold here last night," she said, "We had no idea." "Everybody's buzzing about it," she said, but so far no winner has come to the store to claim the winnings. The store is located at 141 W. Main St. Phone: 484-232-6183.
