More Eggs Pelt Lower Macungie Property

Two more homes and a vehicle are splattered, police say.

Easter has come a little early to some portions of Lower Macungie Township, but not all are celebrating the joys of the season. As if chickens won't have enough to do with in producing all those eggs for area children, some may be squawking about the overtime that will be needed to lay extra ones to replace those recently scrambled when thrown at homes and vehicles. On March 17, two nearby residences were hit about 9:45 p.m., according to state police at Fogelsville. Marc Bartolomet and Kathy McKeever reported homes at 6645 Sauterne Drive and 2273 Chablis Drive pelted with eggs. Police also reported that an egg was splattered against the passenger-side door of a vehicle owned by Danial Richard Miller of 2671 Thistle Road between 7:45 and 9…

Someone Tries to Drill Into GameStop

But they didn't get in, police say.

The folks at GameStop in Lower Macungie are usually in a playful mood but weren't laughing recently when they arrived at work to find that someone had drilled two holes in a rear security door, according to police. State police at Fogelsville classified the incident as criminal mischief, but the incident at the 1042 Mill Creek Road store occurred between 10 p.m. and 9 a.m. March 7 or 8, leaving open the possibility of an attempted break-in. Apparently, entry was not gained. Police did not provide a damage estimate. GameStop primarily sells video games and gaming systems.

Copper and Steel Stolen for Scrap Money

Number of thefts of wire, gutters and steel continues to rise in bad economy.

The long-lasting economic recession continues to make metal that can be sold by thieves at scrap prices a popular target. Police Hoping to Put Charges to Lower Mac Battery Thieves

Store reports that 30 to 40 were stolen from area behind the store, police say.

Here's a tip. If you are offered a great deal to buy a car battery -- oh, let's say out of the back of someone's vehicle -- and that car battery is smoking but not connected, you might not want to take the deal. The store at 1091 Mill Creek Road reported the theft at 5:43 a.m. from an enclosed area to the rear of the building, according to state police at Fogelsville.
