Funeral Set for Teen Crash Victim

Memorial service is announced for William Bickford who was killed Friday in a car accident in Lower Macungie.

Services for William Bickford, 19, who was killed Friday in a car accident in Lower Macungie Township have been announced. Calling hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Sell-Herron Funeral Home, 1145 Lehigh Street, Allentown. Bickford was a son of April Ziminsky and William Lauer, and is survived by both parents; sisters; brothers; grandparents; cousins; aunts; uncles, nieces and nephews and Kate McGowan. Teen Killed in Crash Was Preparing for Baby's Birth

19-year-old Lehigh County man killed in rollover crash Friday

The 19-year-old killed in a Lehigh County crash on Friday night was a "strong, intelligent young man with a heart of gold," according to a friend's post on the victim's Facebook page. William David Bickford lived in Orefield and worked as an assembler at Blue Mountain Machine, Inc., according to his Facebook page. Bickford's last Facebook post was Thursday when he wrote about possible names for the baby his girlfriend is expecting: "For baby names we have this Jasmine Nicole Bickford, and Jayden Christopher Bickford like/no?" Last Sunday, Bickford posted on Facebook "I love my beautiful girlfriend and our baby. His girlfriend, Kate McGowan of Palmerton, is grieving. Orefield Teen Dies in Lower Macungie Crash

William Bickford, 19, of Orefield was killed in a rollover crash in Lower Macungie on Friday night

An Orefield teen was killed late Friday when he was partially ejected from his car, the car rolled over and he was pinned beneath, according to police. William David Bickford, 19, was driving southbound on Route 309 at 10:59 p.m. when he lost control of his car on a left-hand curve, according to state police at Fogelsville. His 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt went onto the shoulder and struck a concrete barrier of the Interstate 78 overpass. The car continued for about 100 feet before rolling and partially ejecting Bickford. Police said he was not wearing a seat belt. The Lehigh County coroner's office was called, police said. Area roadways were wet because of daylong rain, but police did not say whether that contributed to the accident. Emergency …
