Flyers about the East Penn School District went home with elementary school students in this week.
Registration is now open for East Penn School District’s Summer Fitness Camp, which will be held at Willow Lane Elementary School this year. The fitness camp is open to students in grades one through six and the cost for the five-week program is $55. Do you know of any summer camps/activities for elementary school kids in our area? Tell us in the comments. The fitness camp features low-impact fitness activities and non-competitive games taught by certified physical education teachers from East Penn School District. The goal of the program is to give participants the tools they need to become healthy, physically active adults. The 2012 camp will run from July 10 through August 9 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday. Two sessions are planned…

Principal Li Ming, of Shijiazhuang Ning Yuan Primary School in Heibei Province, China is visiting East Penn School District as the guest of Willow Lane principal Anthony Moyer.
East Penn Superintendent Thomas L. Seidenberger yielded the floor to Willow Lane principal Anthony Moyer during his superintendent's report at Monday night's East Penn school board meeting. The reason? To allow Moyer to present to the board a special guest being hosted by the East Penn School District -- Principal Li Ming, of Shijiazhuang Ning Yuan Primary School in Heibei Province, China. Ming, who spoke through a translator, is visiting East Penn School District as the guest of Willow Lane principal Anthony Moyer. Moyer will visit Ming's school in China in April. However, Lower Macungie commissioners and parents agree the June 3 pedestrian accident sparks interest in improving crossroads around Willow Lane Elementary School.
Though about 50 concerned parents and residents waited patiently to speak at the June 16 meeting of the Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners, several left before they could express their opinions because of a lengthy hearing prior to the public comment section of the meeting. Many people attended the festival at Willow Lane Elementary School that evening. Commissioner President Roger Reis immediately agreed that, “Any accident involving a child is a sad event,” before he proceeded to give an account of the accident: “Anybody who has children knows how fast they are,” Reis continued. “They know how quickly […

Commissioners will address the June 3 accident that has neighbors and parents concerned.
The June 3 pedestrian accident in which a 6-year-old boy was hit by a car continues to cause great concerns to parents and residents in the community. “The township is working with the Pennsylvania State Police regarding the accident, and will be discussing this at the June 16 Board of Commissioners meeting,” said Lower Macungie Township Manager Bruce Fosselman. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the Lower Macungie Township Municipal Building. The agenda is not yet available, but closer to the Thursday meeting date should be available here. The incident occurred just before 5 p.m., and state police at Fogelsville say the boy, who was unnamed by police because of his age and listed only as being from Macungie, was attempting to cross …

Land bought in 1991. School under construction in 96-98, I believe. Really should have started building by 94-96 or 95-97, but both the CEPTA board and the post CEPTA board dragged their feet.
