Freezing Rain Advisory Through 10 a.m. Saturday

Beware of icy roads.

The Lehigh Valley including Macungie is under a freezing rain advisory for light freezing rain from 7 p.m. tonight until 10 a.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. WFMZ said the storm could affect the Friday evening commute. We could wake up to an icy glaze tomorrow. The Weather Service says: Precipitation is expected to change to rain Saturday and rain could be heavy at times. Sunday will be sunny and warmer with a daytime high in the 40s.

Winter Storm to Hit Macungie Friday

A winter storm could bring up to 16 inches of snow before it's over, says the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service says a winter storm will bring snow, sleet and rain to Macungie and Lower Mac Friday into early Saturday morning. The major impact will be in New England where a nor'easter-type storm could bring blizzard conditions and almost a foot of snow. The National Weather Service is predicting 6 to 16 inches of snow for this storm and WFMZ predicts 6 to 12 inches for the Lehigh Valley. Snow should develop Friday morning, then mix with or change to sleet and rain from southeast to northwest. Snow could be heavy at times later Friday afternoon and Friday night, the Weather Service says. "Very hazardous travel is expected for the evening commute and well into the night with visibility down to one quarter mile at times," …

Snow, Sleet Warning for Macungie Friday

The work and school week may end with a wintry mix, according to weather forecasters

Another winter storm is on the way and it could make for very messy travel on Friday morning. Snow is expected to start falling in Macungie after in the very early hours of Friday around 1 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Snow will be followed by a mix of sleet. freezing rain and rain changing to all rain after 9 a.m. Friday. The precipitation could change back to snow Friday night. Then the storm will clear out leaving sunny skies, blustery breezes and a high of 33 degrees on Saturday. WFMZ also says we can expect a wintry mix Thursday night and Friday with some snow accumulation possible, but Ed Hanna says it's too soon to accurately predict accumulations.
