Rear-End Crash Causes Neck Injury, Police Say

Driver struck from behind at Lower Macungie intersection is taken to hospital for whiplash-type injury, troopers report.

An Allentown-area woman recently received a neck injury when her car was struck from behind at an intersection in Lower Macungie Township, police said. Judith E. Urquizo, 51, was stopped at a red light at Hamilton Boulevard and Interstate 78 at 10:17 a.m. Feb. 4, according to state police at Fogelsville. Her Honda Civic was hit by a car traveling behind her. The second vehicle, a Chevrolet Malibu driven by Gladys J. Santee, 86 of Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County, police said. She was unable to stop in time, crashing into Urquizo's car and causing the whiplash-type injury. Urquizo was transported to a hospital by Macungie Ambulance Corps, complaining of neck pain, police said. Neither Santee nor her passenger, Nancy A. Erdman, 79, were injured…
