What's the Worst Part of Going Back to School in Lower Macungie?

The first day of school is just a few weeks away. What's the toughest part about getting your kids ready to go back?

Every so often, Staples will break out its classic back to school TV ad: A gleeful dad—with two sullen kids in tow—dancing down the aisles, loading up a cart, to the tune of "It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year."

But back-to-school-time isn't always Christmas for grown-ups. We asked readers on the Lower Macungie Facebook page about the hardest part of getting ready for the start of school.

"Waiting for the letter from the teacher," said reader Tawnia Cunningman. "I hate that they think we are all made of money and can just run out and spend hundreds of dollars at one time for supplies that our kids need."

"Trying to get the teenagers back on decent sleep schedule," said Dee Soucy, a comment echoed by others.

Of course, not everyone was stressed: "THE BEST: Not having to do it," said Linda Jo Heffer, "Retired teacher with grown children."
